After awarding its Wholesale Infrastructure Provider license, “Dawiyat” and “Zain Saudi Arabia” sign an Agreement

 

Mobile Telecommunication Company Saudi Arabia (Zain) and (Dawiyat) a subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) have signed a binding Agreement to offer thousands of household’s superfast broadband services over the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network of Dawiyat. Both companies will leverage their networks and Dawiyat’s fiber-optic based Access Network to offer reliable and fast internet services.

Dr. Ahmed Sindi, CEO of Dawiyat said “Today’s agreement with Zain Saudi comes as an outcome of Dawiyat signed agreement with Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) in August 2017 to build state of the art FTTH network as part of the National Transformation Program 2020.

Furthermore, Dawiyat CEO said, “We are happy to announce Dawiyat achievement and success in delivering first batch of households in Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam where our partner Zain Saudi Arabia will be able to start serving residential customers with superfast FTTH broadband services” .

“Dawiyat strong position backed by its trustable solid national infrastructure built by SEC to service its smart grid, with extensive reliable reach, qualifies it to become the telecom wholesaler infrastructure of choice especially after commercially launching “Dawiyat Integrated Telecommunications & Information Technology” under its “Wholesale infrastructure Provider” license awarded by CITC serving facility based service providers. Dawiyat fiber network is growing day by day, and today it has reached more than 71,000 Km connecting more than 100 city and around 13,000 towns & villages thought out 1,500 national points of interconnection”  added by Dr. Ahmed Sindi.

Eng Sultan Al Aldeghaither, Zain Saudi CEO said “We are delighted to enter into such Agreement with a company of Dawiyat’s credentials backed by SEC’s comprehensive support. The role of the MCIT was pivotal and enabled both companies to embrace the goals of Vision 2030 to launch FTTH services to more households across the Kingdom”  

Furthermore, Zain Saudi CEO added, “We believe that our strategic business partnership will enable both entities to contribute substantially to the National Transformation Program 2020 and implement initiatives that will contribute to achieving the objectives of Vision 2030”

“Our agreement with Dawiyat is another fundamental step in Zain’s transformation to an integrated service operator in Saudi Arabia. We are creating the right ecosystem with Dawiyat, leveraging our Unified License and fiber assets and together with other partners we will be offering our customers seamless connectivity for their devices and content across 4/5G, FTTH and Wi-Fi networks” continued Zain’s CEO.

“New Zain customers at home will soon be able to enjoy highest speed internet services in the Saudi market and as the first operator. Zain will offer increased choice, smart value and more competition in the market for customers to enjoy a digital lifestyle of their choice whether indoors or whilst being mobile” concluded Eng.
