Zain KSA, a leading provider of telecommunications and digital services, has announced the successful deployment of advanced 4G and 5G coverage inside the Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Tunnel in Riyadh, one of the longest tunnels in the Middle East. Spanning 2,430 meters, the tunnel runs beneath King Salman Park from north to south.

This project marks a strategic step toward strengthening the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure, providing users with stable, high-speed connectivity inside the tunnel. It also enables service providers to implement smart sensors and monitoring technologies connected in real time to control emergency centers, enhancing incident response and improving safety for all users.

Young Saudi professionals contributed to the implementation of this advanced coverage, which includes the integration of state-of-the-art Indoor Building Solutions (IBS) as part of a broader plan to expand telecommunications coverage in enclosed facilities. Zain KSA also developed the tunnel’s digital infrastructure to accommodate all licensed service providers, ensuring seamless and stable coverage not only for Zain customers, but for all network users.

The project was carried out under the supervision and support of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, and the King Salman Park Foundation, which played a key role in coordinating its implementation across relevant entities.
